Danielsville, PA Air Conditioner & Heating Repair Services

History of Danielsville, PA

In 1752, the settlement known as the “Adjacents of Allen” was renamed “Lehigh Township.” The township’s present boundaries were established in 1765. By 1770, more than 300 persons lived within its borders.

In 1850, the population of Lehigh Township numbered 2,343. Farm production included more than 33,000 pounds of butter. Major crops were wheat, rye, corn, oats, buckwheat, potatoes and hay. Three gristmills, two sawmills and an oil mill provided additional employment.

In 1848, Charles B. Daniels bought the lease for the Little Gap Slate Quarry. He operated this quarry for 15 years. Many men worked at the quarry, and their employer constructed several buildings to provide for them and their families. He also served as the new village’s postmaster. The workers gave Danielsville its name in gratitude for all that Charles B. Daniels did for them.
